Parian Bust of Gladstone

William Ewart Gladstone (1809 - 1898) was a British Statesman and staunch Liberal whose politcal career spanned over six decades.
He was Prime Minister no less than four times and was known effectionately by his followers as 'The Grand Old Man'. 
This is a Robinson & Leadbetter Parian bust produced at the end of the 19th century (circa.1890) and shows Gladstone as a senior politician at the end of his career; a beautifully deatailed study of The Grand Old Man himself.
