Victorian Stereo-card Viewer

£220.00Price

A late 19th Century Brewster Stereo-card viewer.

Photographs and photography were already capturing the imagination of the Victorians and stereoviewers added another dimension to their charm and novelty.

Although stereoviews had been pioneered as early as the 1830s it was first done with drawings but would soon incorporate photographic imagery.

Using pictures taken from around the world the Stereo-viewer made it possible to become a 'virtual tourist' using 3D landscapes and scenes.

Dimensions: 19cm x 18cm x 11cm
